Il più importante giornale italiano, il Corriere della Sera, giorno dopo giorno continua a pubblicare con grandi titoli notizie sulla “privacy”: martedì 10 novembre nell‘intervista rilasciata dal CEO di Apple, Tim Cook defnisce un diritto la privacy ed afferma che le internet company devono preoccuparsi di tutelare la privacy pena il rischio di crisi drammatiche in futuro; il giorno dopo, il CEO di Microsoft Nadella annuncia che Microsft aprirà un datacenter in Germania sotto il controllo di Deutsche Telekom per i dati dei cittadini europei, anche come risposta alla recente sentenza sul Safe Harbour.
Se aggiungiamo a questo trend con il tentativo del Presidente Obama di far approvare una legge federale sulla Privacy e con il nuovo GDPR in via di approvazione nell’UE, sembra che stia affermandosi un nuovo scenario in cui la Data protection non è più un mero adempimento buricratico.
Il mondo che la digital transformation sta preprando per tutti noi si regge sulla fiducia e la fiducia richiede che i dati personali siano sicuri e tutelati.

You know that I work for a large IT software company and I can confirm all that Oracle focus is more and more on Cloud. Even before the recent decision by the European Court of Justice on Safe Harbour (https://blog.europrivacy.org/2015/10/26/safe-harbour-invalid-whats-impact-recent-decision-european-court-justice/) there were plans to increase the quality, quantity and power of the datacenters located in Europe to dismiss at once the problem of the export of personal data outside EU. I think that many cloud vendors are facing and solving this topic making local datacenter.
… Of course business continuity and backup shall be limited to Europe as well.
One more comment: you will remember that back in 2012 we proposed in our Cloud Security book (in Italian here: https://privacycloudmobile.clusit.it/_files/download/privacy_nel_cloud.pdf – page 41 point 4) to bring the data in the cloud and keep the keys local.
It is nice to see that Larry Ellison at Oracle Open World said exactly the same thing last week.
